A honeycomb blind is built from pleated cells that hold a layer of still air against the glass. That trapped air is the point: it slows heat coming in through a west-facing window in May, and slows the cool leaking out of an air-conditioned bedroom at night. No other fabric blind does anything comparable.
They also fold to almost nothing — a full-drop blind stacks into a few centimetres at the top — and the top-down bottom-up mechanism lets you open a window from the top for light while the lower half stays private. It is the most technical blind in the range, and the one we most often recommend for AC bedrooms and glare-heavy home offices.

Honeycomb Blinds — common questions
On a sun-facing window in an air-conditioned room, yes — the cells slow the heat crossing the glass and the compressor cycles less. On a shaded north window there is very little to save, and we will tell you that rather than sell the whole flat. The honest pairing for a bad west window is a sun control film on the glass and honeycomb blinds inside.
Roller for budget and simplicity; honeycomb where heat, glare, and AC cost are the actual problem, or where you want the top-down option. Honeycomb costs noticeably more, so it earns its place on the two or three worst windows rather than on every window in the house.
Yes — foil-backed blackout cells block light through the fabric completely, and side channels can be added where a bedroom needs the edges dark too.
Vacuum on low with a brush head, and blow dust out of the cells with a hair dryer on cool. They cannot be wet-washed — the cells lose their crease — so a kitchen window is the wrong place for them.
About 2.4m before the fabric weight starts to sag in the middle of the stack. Beyond that we split the opening into two blinds sharing a headrail so the cell lines stay level.
